Mr. Giuseppe R. Miserendino, CPA
Regional Director Mr. Miserendino is Chief Administrative and Financial Officer and also currently serves as the Chief of Emergency Field Operations for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority—West. He served as Deputy Director for the West Jefferson Levee District from 1991 until 2007, when the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - West was created. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to his current Authority position and became the Executive Director of the West Jefferson Levee District. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Southeast Louisiana University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and specializes in governmental accounting. Mr. Miserendino manages all financial matters of the authority and its member levee districts and is responsible for preparation of budgets, disbursements of funds and preparation of all government grants and requests for reimbursements and credit assemblies. As Executive Director of the West Jefferson Levee he manages and oversees all operations and maintenance of the levee systems for the West Jefferson and Algiers Levee Districts. He also has the responsibility for all emergency flooding and field response for the Authority and has led teams in successful flood fights in hurricanes, tropical storms and high river events over the past 18 years.
